Game, set, and match), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (It's probably going to sweep nominations this year and the Academy always got to have their big contender in the technical nominations alongside the less serious stuff), and Hellboy II.

Now as someone who actually liked Quantum of Solace I have to say to whoever compiled this list...did they actually see the movie? Not very convincing as far as the CGI goes. I thought the lesson would have been learned with Die Another Day...

Re: 15 movies in the running for the 2008 Visual Effects Oscar

Same here, Iron Man or Hellboy 2

Re: 15 movies in the running for the 2008 Visual Effects Oscar

The skydiving and building dive sequence?

Re: 15 movies in the running for the 2008 Visual Effects Oscar

Quantum of Solace has almost no CGI (not counting some explosions that had to be done with CGI. Most of the FX are practical, like they used to do them in the old days. That's the reason why they spent over 200 million on this latest Bond flick.

I think The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and either Iron Man or The Day the Earth Stood Still will be nominated. The winner is rather hard to guess.

Re: 15 movies in the running for the 2008 Visual Effects Oscar

Iron Man or Hellboy

Re: 15 movies in the running for the 2008 Visual Effects Oscar

Hellboy 2
