    isn't that like every movie, ever?

    i read an interview with ian mckellan a couple months back where even he--maker of period melodramas--said something like "narrative tension is mainly derived by witholding information from the reader." this ain't a war movie thing, man.

    also, having a "hero" is not a war movie thing. and i'm not buying that he's a super one. i think by your definition, everything from Lost to the Bucket List would suddenly become super hero movies.
