i agree with you. although as a major fan of Transformers, i found it saddening to have a "Transformers" movie with a giant robot having wrecking ball testicles (really?)
and the general lack of character and complete lack of storyline. It seems like too many robots too many explosions. Transformers has become another run of the mill blow-up-crap-cuz-we-can movie. Like, Optimus Prime ripping a dudes face apart and having the Fallen "give up his face"? This is not the caring truth and justice for all sentient beings Optimus i have come to know and love.

But still, if you take it as just an action movie that happens to have transforming robots, then it was a complete blow my F-ing face off movie, which I'm sure I'll watch again.

I'll rent "Transformers 2", although I'm expecting it to be bad. It can't be worse than the directors other works like "Bad Boys II" or "Armageddon" because Shia LaBeouf is a good acotr, the visuals will be good and Megan Fox is hot. That won't be enough to save it, but it will keep it from being his worst. Nothing for me until "Public Enemies".

I liked the movie, but have stated that in other threads. Sure it's thin on plot, the acting is just okay and there still isn't enough robots fighting it was exactly what I expected. It is exactly transformers 1 except just more of each part.

The effects were cool, I loved what they did with Sounwave and Ravage, I was happy with the exchanges between Megatron and Starscream, Devastator was awesome, the Twins were not as annoying as I expected them to be, and no where near Jar Jar levels.

As a whole I thought the movie worked well. The only problems I had with it was, what they did to Jetfire and Devastor. The Constructicons should've had a much bigger role, and Devastator should've been given an overhaul in the design department. Another problem is Megatron taking orders from The Fallen. Megatron takes orders from no one. But all that aside, it worked. Primes fight with Starscream and Megatron was pure awesome. His death captured the same emotion I felt when he died if the '86 animated movie. People complain about bad plot and storyline, but none of that matters. When you're going to see Transformers, you dont care about plot, storyline. You just want to see giant robots destroying citys and beating the crap out of each other. Think back to when you watched the old series, other than Spike, Sparkplug, Chip( the guy in the wheelchair) and Spikes girlfreind, the girl who loved Powerglide, Shawn Berger, the mayor, a couple of security guards, a few paparazzi, a small group of people and Dr. Archeville, the kid who fixed Tracks, 3 street dancers, a gang of thugs, and a club full of people. How much human involvement was there? Not that much I'd wadger.

And there's a scene where devastator climbing on top of the pyramid..An ex-sector 7 is calling the navy, ordering to fire devastator..Something like this: "Are you a patriot? Do you love your country? So what are you waiting for? Fire!!!!!! Yes sir! whoever you are, I'll obey your command eventhough you're not the general!!! WTF!!!!!

Your the idiot...Roger ebert is a two bit whore, who promotes whatever the last studio exec crammed inside his colon with a pat on the back and a white envelope in his jacket pocket.

This is the popcorn flick of the summer and it did exactly that, it made me not even noticed I stuffed myself with a gallon of popcorn trying to not drool on myself as robots ninja kicked each other in the head, it was every 14 year olds wet dream and made every decepticon robo-geek probably want to open their mint condition in original package hasbro optimus prime action figure and stick in the microwave and to watch its face melt, while yelling "NOW GIVE ME YOUR FACE BITCH!! ...mindless fun at the end of the day is always FUN none the less!

I must say I liked the film, it wasnt totally amazing but it was still entertaining, there were parts which annoyed such as the revival of Megatron part which you mentioned.
However I can see how they have simply ignored pretty much the entire original Transformers storyline and are simply appealing to the casual audience with stuff constantly being blown up and seeing Megan Fox assests bound up and down (not that i'm complaining).
If you ask me they're milking the cash cow for all its worth, especially with such an open ending.

you understand this movie best Melko.
It conformed to the cartoon much better then the first Transformers movie, and even though was filled with lame jokes, it stayed true to it's roots with the semi there story that kinda made sense. That's impressive for a franchise that is entirely based on a toy.

Save your overly pretentious view of movies for people who give a damn. This movie was everything it was MEANT to be. This movie wasn't trying to be some amazing plot-driven, character developing Oscar contender. This film was trying to be a 2 and a half hour long, in-your-face, robot fighting spectacle, and absolutely nothing more. Did it succeed in doing what it set out to do? Absolutely. It's movie elitists such as yourself that for some unknown reason expected this movie to contain actual intellectual substance. That's the reason your opinion of the movie is that it's a "piece of crap". Stop being such a pretentious prick, and have some fun with this movie, and watch it as it's meant to be watched.

See the funny thing is if you had followed transformers in the 80s or beast wras for that matter. or read the comics to go with the movie you would know that there is a huge story and virtually none of the stuff in this movie hasnt been done before in transformers. Which is why if you area transformers fan things made more sense. and guess what? it was made for transformers fans and people who wanted a violent crazy movie. If you dont want the transformers story or explosions and dirty jokes. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GO?

problem was the robots never showed up after the forest fight scene. They fucking danced around behind the army.

And If I here Shia Laboof say he's got something in is head one more fucking time, he'll have a bullet in his head.

Listen, just because you state a plot point for 2 and a half hours and go to robot heaven for a little bit, does not make for anything even remotely interesting, Get back to the giant robots. . . who are. . . hiding behind the army. . . or 6 inches from the camera so we can't tell wtf is going on.

I've never been so intensly bored. Fuck you and goodnight ladies and gentle man.
