As founder and chief writer for MOVIEGUIDE, and as president of the Christian Film & Television Commission, I have been invited to a pre-screening of the film TROPIC THUNDER, and believe me, it is excellent!
At first I had my doubts, certainly. I did not think that this film would have the redeeming Christian qualities and family-friendly thematic elements that would warrant a +4 WHOLESOME rating on my website of www.movieguide.org
The producers understood my concerns, dashed off a generous check to my subsidiary (KAIROS Marketing Group) and now I am proud to highly recommend TROPIC THUNDER to families of all ages! It is well-written, hilarious, and loaded with adventure and great scenes.
Okay, forgive the language, but are people so freaking RETARDED that they cant see the difference between a film that truly *does* offend the mentally diabled and a film that's making *fun* of films that offend the mentally disabled? I know, it's a big leap in comprehension, but gosh, give it a try!
As for the protesters -- trust me, guys: there are plenty of legitimate targets out there. But to beat up something like TROPIC THUNDER which, if you look deeper than the surface, is actually on *your* side, seems more than a little ungrateful.
