For once i'd appreciate it if Hollywood could make a realistic film dealing with *retarded* people. One where a *retard* goes outside, get's laughed at and then goes back inside to cry in their room. The reality of all this PC(political correctness) BS (BullShit!). It gets on my nerves. If you don't like a movie than the solution is very simple, like Simple Jack. Don't watch it! Must I repeat myself? Aren't all movies a work of craftsmanship and isn't craft just another word for metaphor and don't we all envision different metaphors? If we all envision different yet similar metaphors than isn't it pitiful to complain in the form of whine-like preaching that some film misrepresents some aspect of modern society? Who is one person or group of people to say what is realism? Isn't a truth just an opinion and isn't an opinion just a viewpoint and isn't a viewpoint metaphoric? If i'm confusing anyone, I'm sorry. Just think freely before you appear as a prepubescent justifier of inaccurate one-sided, biased, false information. Maybe, I could indeed be offending someone with what I've just typed. If i have offended anyone through this comment, it just goes to show how I'm right in my opinion. Remember, when you read or watch something and you relate to it in any way whatsoever. It is this reaction that is gifted the title of metaphor. . . PS: Sorry, I know I read as though I have a giant ego. It's just that I dislike whining to the utmost. ~ Not yours sincerely - Somebody who studies other somebodies and himself in the hope of reaching satisfying fulfillment.

Re: Tropic Thunder Offends People

Retards are funny. People don't have to watch the movie.

Re: Tropic Thunder Offends People

This is stupid. Carlos Mencia makes fun of retards and doesnt get shit for it, but people want to single out this movie? YOU PEOPLE ARE RETARDED. Suck my balls. If you have a problem with what I said, take it up with me.

Re: Tropic Thunder Offends People

Okay, forgive the language, but are people so freaking RETARDED that they cant see the difference between a film that truly *does* offend the mentally diabled and a film that's making *fun* of films that offend the mentally disabled? I know, it's a big leap in comprehension, but gosh, give it a try!

As for the protesters -- trust me, guys: there are plenty of legitimate targets out there. But to beat up something like TROPIC THUNDER which, if you look deeper than the surface, is actually on *your* side, seems more than a little ungrateful.

Re: Tropic Thunder Offends People

As founder and chief writer for MOVIEGUIDE, and as president of the Christian Film & Television Commission, I have been invited to a pre-screening of the film TROPIC THUNDER, and believe me, it is excellent!

At first I had my doubts, certainly. I did not think that this film would have the redeeming Christian qualities and family-friendly thematic elements that would warrant a +4 WHOLESOME rating on my website of www.movieguide.org

The producers understood my concerns, dashed off a generous check to my subsidiary (KAIROS Marketing Group) and now I am proud to highly recommend TROPIC THUNDER to families of all ages! It is well-written, hilarious, and loaded with adventure and great scenes.

Go see it! Twice!

Dr. Ted Baehr
www.movieguide.org
