AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG THEY RUINED THE CAST WITH THESE PPL!!!! NO ONE BUT ALICE FITS THE CHARACTER!@!!!! WHO'S IN CHARGE, THEY NEED TO BE FIRED!!!!!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THIS MOVIE, BUT THIS UGLY CAST HAS RUINED IT FOR ME!!! I'M DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR SELECTION, MAYBE THE PPL WHO CHOSE THE CAST SHOULD'VE READ THE BOOK, SO THEY WOULD HAVE BETTER UNDERSTANDING ON HOW THE CHARACTERS ARE ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE. I agree that the cast could have been better selected but, you have to have an open mind to that everyone else has diffrent images of the characters in thier minds. And the Directors have to read the book in order to direct it. I bet this movie will be really good.

I loved the books and I can't stand Jakeob in the book's, but I think that Robert Pattinson ( Edward) is not the best choice for Edward only because Edward and Bella are the most amazing and good looking characters in the world that you can't make a movie out of the book because at least one person would not be happy with the choice of the actor and actresses.

I have to say that even though the cast doesn't look like what someone would picture, everyone pictures a character in a book differently, and i think the cast does look like vampires at least... It's kinda like the Eragon movie, If you have read the book and compair the movie to the book, it is not that great, but if you have never read the book, the movie is a really good movie, and well done.....with Twilight, it could be like the book, and if it's not, oh well, as long as the actors are good, and the movie is well done.

Did you honestly think that they were going to be able to find people who look EXACTLY like the Cullens and whatnot? Let's be real here. No body can look like them, and these 'people who should be fired' as you call them, found the BEST cast that they could. These are the actors that not only look the part, but can act it too. Instead of bringing them down, and complaining about it you should try to look more into it and see how well the cast is doing, and how HOT Rob is. And, everyone looks perfect. Esme and Carslisle are exactly how they're supposed to be, and so is Jasper, Alice and especially Emmett. Robert is EXACTLY how Stephenie described Emmett, (go back in the book and check) and Bella is too. The only one who maybe isn't the best choice was Nikki, and that's because of she's brunette and tan in real life. So there

The only one that looks off I would say is Jasper. And I'll admit I pictured Edward to be a little different than what he does above but who knows when things come onto the screen. And as for Bella, I actually /like/ her a lot because she looks very average, she's not meant to look absolutely gorgeous and stunning.

I think this cast will be amazing. They arent exactly the 'Cullens', but who could be? Everyone has their own idea of what the Cullens should look like and people need to give the cast a break!! There is no one in the world who would be perfect to play Edward and please everyone, but i think that Robert will try damn hard and do a great job. I'm reading New Moon now and I'm dissipointed about Edward... for those who have read the second book you should know what I'm talking about, I liked how things where in Twilight much better... But I also pictured Edward much more amzing looking, but I don't think that anyone could actually be like I invisioned as I was reading the book, so I am still pleased with what he looks like, very handsome! And Bella is actually prettier than I had pictured, but thats a good thing. So will the movie have all four books in it?

Edward is ugly.
Bella looks like a man.
Rosalie is not pretty like she was described in the book.
Jasper looks like a fag.
Emmett, well, Emmett's big but that's it.
Alice doesn't look as small as I imagined her.

I'm really disappointed with the cast, but especially with Edward.
When i found out about the movie, it wasn't long after I had read the first book and I was ecstatic about it!
Then I found out that Robert Pattinson was going to play Edward.
ughhh.
I was so pissed about that.
Edward is this gorgeous guy and Robert is not.

Very disappointing.

I'm still going to see the movie, but I know I will be disappointed and the movie will never ever be as good as the book.

At least i have Breaking Dawn to look forward to.

there are many diffrent resons the casting isnt as good as people expect them to be. first of all, stephanie Meyer portrais the Culluns as the most amazing looking creatures on this plant, thier beauty is non-human, features are beyond extrodinary. where the heck are they going to find people to like the vampires in stephanies book any where. its impossible. shes said it her self. 2nd, people read the book and make thier own version in their mind of the charactors. so people get pissed at the cast because its not what they pictured. the first time i saw the cast seletion i was freaked out, i thought they made a huge mistake. But after the initial shock, it made sense. i can see them all play their characters but the only critic i have in that jasper's hair is awful. oh and laurent isn't who i expected at all, but i think it will all come together in the end. it won't be as good as the book, but really what movie is as good as its book. harry potter is a great example of that, great movies but not as good as the books. oh well, i'm not alice and can't predict how it will go, i can only hope for the best.

I think they did an okay job on picking the characters. its not just all about looks either, maybe their personalities fit really well. i mean, come on, give them a break, its probably really hard to find actors who can act good enough but also have the best appearance of the characters too you know?

people people. take into account no one looks like a bloody vampire in real life. i think the characters have been chosen as best as they could. and edward has a sexy, sadistic look going on which, as a vampire, he should have. i admit alice is the best match to her character decription, but i think that's just her hair tbh. at the end of the day if you're a fan of the book, you'll be a fan of the film regardless of the cast selection. i know i can't wait for the fourth book to come out and the film. it's driving me insane having to wait.

No offense to the actor (he was good in Harry Potter and all) but I don't think he was right for this movie. Also, I really am not looking forward to seeing the movie because whenever I see a movie from a book, I am excited to see it brought to life, but always there's parts that are completely different and they just ruin my view of it. The Eragon movie was good if you hadn't read the book, but they ruined a bunch of the characters! Ahhhhh! what the hell is up?

The writing is horrible (Stephenie Meyer can't write to save her life. She's a TERRIBLE author. She has no talent whatsoever. It makes me wonder if her editor died or something), most of the characters are unrealistic/annoying/stupid (take your pick), the plots are predictable and boring, the relationships and interactions between *most* of the characters are unrealistic/superficial/shallow (Honestly, Edward is one of the creepiest people ever), and the series sends out a terrible message. In my opinion. What kind of morals is SM putting into her story? I'm getting the vibes such as, "Abandon your future for one guy when you are a teenager. You will know what you want for the rest of eternity when you are 17 year old girl, after all. Abandon your family, your friends, etc for this guy. They are worthless compared to him. Listen to everything this guy tells you to do. Don't go against his wishes. Do whatever he says. Use marriage as a compromise! Get married against your will, even though marriage is generally something you do because you want to do it. But who cares? Because hey, all that matters in life is being immortal and beautiful and elegant. Being human sucks, after all. Oh and, it's okay to kill people if you can't help it [I'm thinking of the vampires here... even the Cullens are guilty of murder, particularly Edward. Actually, Edward and Jasper have killed the most]".It's just so stupid. Her books are so... anti-human. I feel like an author should use their influence to teach those who read their books a good moral/lesson... and SM isn't doing that at all. okay so yes i like Edward he slightly fits the part but for some reason in my head i imagined him to be taller?

Bella looks okay but when i saw the trailer i realised that she has no emotion in her voice. Bella in the story is always emotional. Rosalie was meant to be exceptionally beautiful. shes okay but not as perfect as a vampire should be. Jasper looks so.. weird??
well jasper is defiantly not right. Alice looks right but what is she wearing. haha okay i think im going to far now.
i like emmet he's big like hes supposed to be :)
but they should really re-think Bella. or she should but more effort into her acting.
im really hoping that the move will have a million times better acting on Bellas part compared to the trailer.

I'm confused with this cast... wasn't Alice supposed to have dark hair?
And Jasper... what is with this guy? He looks like he's being electricuted in this pic.
Emmett looks AWSOME!! But Edward looks a bit too scary.
Bella looks too young... I don't know I'm still confused about Alice, she doesn't fit the description in the book at all. I know you all think I'm crazy... but here's what the book said,
"Of the three boys, one was big- muscled like a serious weight lifter, with dark, curly hair (Emmett, as i said looks like perfect!). Another was taller, leaner, but still muscular and honey BLONDE (Jasper is not up there). The last was lankey, less bulky, with untidy, bronze-colored hair. He was more boyish than the others, (EDWARD!!!) who looked like they could be in college, or even teachers here rather than students." P18 of Twilight. Alright now here are the girls... "The tall one was statuesque. She had a beautiful figure..., Her hair was golden, gently waving to the middle of her back (so the Rosalie actress is pretty good). The short gilr was PIXIELIKE, thin in the extreme, with small features. HER HAIR WAS DEEP BLACK (!!!!), cropped short and pointing in every direction." 'Alice's' hair style loooks ok in the pic. but the color is throughing me off. I mean everyone is going to have a different opion and I'm not saying their's is wrong or mine is right, I'm just trying to explain why the cast doesn't look how I pictured them while reading this GREAT book.

I hate to say it girls, but Edward is a completely fictional character and no real actor or being alive can compare. Everyone has a different image of the cast as it should be in their head. Hell, I didnt expect them to look like that, but like i said, no cast could ever compare. We love the book too much. A movie wont ever beat it.
At least they're trying. And regardless of the cast, we all know we're going to go see it the day it comes out anyway.

i have read the first two books in the last two weeks and i love them!!!! me and my brother were fighting over how got to read it first! i won! but i just love the books usually i'm a realistic fiction girl but i love these books!! this was so compeling that i just can't stop thinking about bella and edward!! and all the stuff happening like with the movie! I love the twilight cast, and Robert for Edward is Ah-may-zing. What's with all the hate people? It really isn't easy to portray the characters in your mind...so get over it. The only reason why the twilight cast is being looked down on is because everyone has their ideal Edward and Bella. Harry Potter wasn't frowned upon cause the character was shown on the cover of the book. Get it into your head Robert Pattinson is wonderful.

honestly i think that they did a pretty good job picking out the characters. at first i wasnt too happy but the choice for edward, but looking at them all together, they seem just like i pictured them. i mean, the characters in the book are supposed to be the most beautiful people in the world, and how can you realistically represent that in the movies? its just impossible. rosalie could be a little prettier though...

ok, well personally, I love Robert Pattinson as Edward. When I think of how he was discribed in the book and then look at Robert all I see is Edward!! He is so lovely!! I really love the whole cast. Kristen would not have been my first pick for Bella but I think she will do fine. I mean, she does look like Bella but not quite how i pictured her. But everyone has diff. metal pictures of each of these charaters, so the casting director can't please everyone. But I am really happy with the cast!!

Well I agree with everyone that said that everyone pictures the characters a bit differently in their minds so its no surprise that not everybody in the cast looks like how you/we wanted. Personally i think they made a pretty good choice for Emmett, Alice, and Bella (Doesn't she look like a clumsy, clueless, accident prone type of girl?). But as for Rosalie and Jasper not so much (Jasper looks like he needs some serious hair gel).(I have no comment on Edward.... the guy looks like a vampire right now) Oh yeah and Stephanie Meyer did have a say in all of this so if she thinks its good then I'm going to trust her.

This is just a bad pic of Edward, his face is all deformed. I have seen most of the movie trailers and he looks a lot better there than in this picture. It also looks like from these trailers that the movie is going to stay true to the book. Wich is great cause I'm tired of movies messing up great books like Harry Potter or Eragon. i think the cast thats been selected fit it pretty well, i think Robert Pattinson is a good choice for edward but i must admit this isnt the best picture of him. but honestly when you see him acting hes a BABE. you'll melt. plus he aces the crooked smile which i noticed in some of the trailers on youtube. i think emmett and alice also fit the description well, but i thought bella and rosalie should have been prettier. rosalie especially. i also thought bella's voice is a bit low for her character, but im not too bothered. :)

Saying the cast is ugly is a completely unfair statement. Sorry but whoever says that must be pathetic to go so far as to diss someone on their looks, probably for their own self esteem issues. =)

Ok...so i've read all four books and i absolutly LOVE them! But the movie was soposed to be really good and i am still going to see it but i am disappointed. Edward is soposed to be the beautiful one, God-like, with liquid topaz eyes. This guy is not even close! I think that Chad Michael Murey (I think that's his name. He plays the main guy in 'A Cinderella Story.) Should have played Edward because he is Soooo hot and fits the part better that this guy does! And, HELLO! Jacob is NOT soposed to be cuter than Edward! WHAT"S WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!

I think they completely fill the expectations of bella and edward!
I must say that in this picture Robert doesn't look the part, but in the movie he is PERFECT.

it's your own damn fault if these people do not live up to your expectations.

Key and point these people are actors and actresses.
Now if they weren't good looking enough, they wouldn't have those careers.
Hollywood is shallow and apparently so are all of you.

Judge a book on context and the film on it's effort.

wow, you guys are harsh. you havent even seen the movie and how well these people play the characters and your already dissing them. No actor playing any character in a movie made from a book will ever match everyones idea of the character in the way of appearance but they could bring out the personality of the character really well and thats all that really matters, but if you have such a problem with it then do the obvious thing and dont see the movie.

I feel that some of the actors in this photo do fit the books pretty well. Emmett and Rosalie look perfect. Alice is iffy. I feel that the actress should be much shorter and a little more flat chested for the role, however, Bella is okay, but her hair should be completely straight. This was hair and make-ups mistake, not the actress's fault. Edward cullen should be played by a more exotic looking male like Tyson Ritter (All-American Rejects) and Jasper just doesn't look right at all... I certainly wish that there was at least a different Edward.

The only person I object to is "Elizabeth Reaser" as a cast member. I have not liked her character in anything I have seen and I don't think she deserves a role in Twilght. Other than her appearance (whatever role she has) I think the cast is beautiful. I love the actress who plays Bella and I think Edward is beautiful (He was awsome in Harry Potter and just as Hot). I love it all and I can't wait to see their magnificent performance.

People need to stop being so hysterical about it. So what if they're not picture perfect? They're not going to hire models, because they need ACTORS, and a GREAT cast, that's what they got, and guess what? They look like models, because they're all gorgeous, even Kristen Stewart. Stephenie Meyer, THE CREATOR OF TWILIGHT, approved them all, and said that "When I saw Rob with the new hair, and all primped up, I was like, 'OMG!' Rob looked exactly like the Edward in my head" (something like that, I can't remember)

Ok,here's the thing obviously they are not going to be like we imagined but they could look somewhere near to it. I mean there is not any part of the book where they describe edward as scarylooking and said he has purple under his eyes, he looks like he is high and bella is supposed to be an average girl, there are tons of them that don't have man voices and would look happier to be in the movie. Edward= vampire, vampires are supposed to be creepy! Bella is always deep in thought in the book, so why wouldnt she look out of it?? Vampires are described as inhumanly perfect, so unless you've got a bunch of inhumanly gorgeous vamps running around your town the actors, will look human.

I must say, when I first heard about a movie and the casting; I went in my corner the sob. x3 They were indeed not what I was expecting. I personally don't think Pattinson is in the least bit attractive, but hey, everyone has there opinions. I don't know whats with the voice bashing comments for Bella, but I found it humorous. And Jacob being played by the same kid as sharkboy in Sharkboy and Lavagirl? I got a few giggles out of that. They aren't the 'gorgeous, everyone-swoons-over-them' people; but I will watch it. As long as they don't ruin the book to movie dialect like The Other Bolyn Girl, I am content. =0)

gosh d1@n@ (#49) u sure have alot to say. and the comment about not having purple under his eyes if u paid attention to the book it says the have dark circles under thier eyes from not sleeping.Look more closely and ull notice all the cullens have that. But anyway i think they did an awesome job. I think its weired they got the guy who plays Cedric Digory (Harry Potter 4) to play edward. "bella" does have a funny sounding voice though. its to deep. the cast, i think, is pretty good.
it is hard to get the PERFECT actors, that look exactly like the characters in the novel, and of course they are going to look "regular", they're human beings.

so, just put up with it, if you dont wanna watch the movies because you're disappointed, then stick to the novels, but the cast of the movie isn't going to stop me from watching the movie.

Ya. My first reaction to the casting was... well, i was pretty distraught. But i guess they are starting to grow on me a little...
I'm more worried about the differences in the plot between the book and the movie. I've got this little fairytale all played out in my head. I'd like to hold on to that, but i know the movie is going to be different than the book. That's just the way things go...
So, i've decided (for the moment) that the first time i see the movie, i'm gonna pretend like i'm a somewhat objective third party- like i never read the book. then, after that, i plan to annoy my sister by commenting on all the things that were wrong [or perhaps different is a better word]. that's my plan for now...

Okay i think Edward is just the best for the role. I think they should have used someone else for Bella, her hair is not supposed to pe that curly first of all. and isnt it supposed to have some red and shouldnt she be paler and thinner and more shorter, but i guess shes okay. I am here, for the real and honest examination of the characters.

Edward: Looks like he's in a shoot for a big tough guy movie. Your not the incredible hulk buddy. Shave your eyebrows and maybe... eat something.

Bella: She must be stoned. Looks a little to oblivious to the massive freak looming over her in the darkness.
Her character appearnce alone however, could be worse.

Emmett: His face looks like Voldemort. Thats not cool.

Alice: I like this one, yes its a miracle, she isn't too bad. I am curious to see how she will portray her character through acting though.

Now, dont get me wrong, i was delighted with the movie previews and all, and i can barely contain my excitement for the first viewing on friday, but the cast just has its... flaws. That i needed to point out. Im sure all the actors will do just peachy.

I didn't say the cast wasn't good-looking. I was talking about this picture. Goodness. Wow, okay, Robert Patterson is very good-looking, but I wouldn't go as far as to say "the most beautiful male figure I have ever seen". Most people are having issues with the fact that the characters don't look how they were described in the books, and NOT with that they don't look how we imagined, as you keep ranting on about. For example, in the books it says on several occasions that Alice has short, black, spiky hair. She is also supposed to be very slim and small and graceful. I find Bella's voice annoying because it just sounds all lispy and manly, IN MY OPINION, and other people are clearly supporting my view. I actually think the actor is really hot. Just have your own opinions and let other people have their's.

Shelby makes a good point. Bella, in the film, in my opinion and the opinion of many others, is not very attractive. The actress however looks very pretty. I don't understand why the made her look worse in the film when in the books she attracts rather a lot of male attention, meaning she must be fairly attractive. "dont blame anyone but yourself if your ugly." Well, first of all, your grammar is awful. Secondly, even if anyone WAS ugly, and I don't think anyone has the right to judge that, they wouldn't have themself to blame... They'd have been born like that... :S Finally, you portray yourself as a complete bimbo who is obsessed with appearance. That is all.

the reason edwards voice is off is because he is british and has an accent but he had to cover up that accent and give an american accent. the movie is amazing but i think bellas voice was a little too rough in places.

ok, so I never felt the need to read the twilight books (I had read the summaries online and found the idea of vampires rather disturbing) until earlier on this week when I heard about the movie. So I finished the series of four books a couple of days ago and being a teenager I have to admit many of the books out there (especially the ones for females) are extremelly repetitive and simple broadcast the need for material things. So what I'm getting to is that the twilight books were different and in my personal opinion, my second favorite set of books to Harry Potter. I have seen the movie, and I was prepared for a similar downfall to that which I felt when watching the Harry Potter movies. That didn't happen. I found the overall layout of the movie breathtaking.

The director(s) and script writers did a fabulous job. And as did Stephenie Meyer when writing the books. Thank you ! And for those of you who are commenting on the above picture, looks certainly aren't everything. And this image does not do justice to the characters and how they are portrayed in the movie. I notice that nobody has mentioned Jacob Black, the actor who plays his role in the movie is phenomenal, even whilst reading the books I loved Jacob and that decision has not been altered after watching the movie ! : )

this is a fantastic show, it has a very nice story, and good actors and actresses. if you watch this movie, you must understand the story to justify the real beauty of this movie. the lead actors and actresses are fitted their character to this movie thats why the movie was so nice and fabulous, take the lead TWILIGHT

I saw the movie yesterday and it's really good (: Of course it's not as good as the book because some scenes are kinda rushed and we don't have notion of the time between them, but still I liked it <3
Hey, Edward may not be as beautiful as you pictured in the book but he's hot no matter what and suits the part very well. Plus I think the Bella's character is good too, cause if you read the book carefully you'll notice that in the 1st and 2nd book Bella is "scared" in a lot of moments like she looks in the movie.
Eric and Mike .. don't like them all that much, but they have a small part so.. it's nothing to worry about (:
Jasper ..looks a bit weird, but hey! he has to be =P Alice, Rosalie, Esme and Carslile (who is seriously hot!!) are okay.
But the best of all is, without a doubt, Emmett, i really liked their choice. He is GREAT ! I absolutely loved him *.*

There are plenty of exciting moments in the book that the movie didn't covered. I hope when the next film comes out it will be somewhat the same as what the book says. Because as a fan of the book we are hpoing to picture out everything what the book says.

I just started reading Twilight (already on page 94 in one or two hours) and I have to say that I am very disappointed in their selection for Bella. I was expecting a much more ... I can't really explain it. I'm agreeing with "DISAPPOINTED ONLOOKER;" It just isn't right. The bloody hell if I know though, I just started reading it! But I am greatly disappointed. Bella just isn't what I expected her to be. For one, paler skin and she looks too ... well, ugh. Very disappointed. VERY disappointed.

I can honestly say after reading all four books that Bella is EXACTLY how I pictured her. The rest of the cast fits especially Alice since she does have that Pixie-like face described in the book. I admit that at first I was unsure about Edward but now after watching the trailor for it he fits in just fine with the rest of the cast.

I get that everyone is entitled to their opinions but you and "DISAPPOINTED ONLOOKER" should really wait until the movie comes out before you start spewing about how bad the casting is. Maybe once you see the movie you'll realize that everyone fits into their roles as the should.
