Aragorn doesn't love Éowyn because of her beauty. I think Mirranda Otto is perfect.

Re: Uma Thurman Was Nearly Eowyn In The Lord Of The Rings!

UMA THURMAN IS SO MUCH HOTTER THAN MIRRANDA OTTO!!! In the books, Eowyn is posed as an alternatve romanitc interest for Aragron. Her role is to portray Aragorn's loyalty to his true love, Arwen (played by Liv Tyler). In the movie however, it's ridiculous!! Miranda Otto is attractive, dont get me wrong, but its a ludicrous idea for her to hold a candle to Liv Tyler and have Aragorn (Viggo Mortenson) act like there's a conflict. Had Uma Thurman played the role, there might've been more authenticity to be had

Re: Uma Thurman Was Nearly Eowyn In The Lord Of The Rings!

Hey! Sean Connery is my favorite actor, but he would have sucked as Gandalf, cause everybody would want him to pull an AK47 every other battle!

Re: Uma Thurman Was Nearly Eowyn In The Lord Of The Rings!

I also heard that the blond woman that played the Austrian in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' was picked to play the role of Eowyn, but had to turn it down for the same reason. I am just more pissed to heard that Connery turned down the role of Gandalf. He would've been the best.
